Arvika Konsthantverk is Sweden´s oldest handicraft shop, specialized in provincial handicraft. The shop was founded in 1922 by the artist Maja Fjaestad together with a number of her colleagues from Arvika and vicinity to promote their products. It has been in business at the same location since 1924 and is now owned by a new generation of craftsmen. The craftsmen were influenced by a group of artists who lived around the lake Racken at the turn of the 20th century and achieved widespread fame. The products for sale by the craftsmen of today in Arvika Konsthantverk show innovative design and colour which is based on a rich cultural heritage.
Several smaller exihibitions are arranged in the shop during the year. For information: www.arvikakonsthantverk.se
