On July 18, 1727, the inhabitants of Norra Fjärdingen of the Farnebo parish had been granted royal permission to build their own church on the Nordmarksheden, and work on the church began the same year. The church was built of wood as a cross church in reclining timber and under the guidance of builder Johan (Jan) Unger with the assistance of carpenter master Olof Holmstedt in Filipstad. Nordmarks Kyrka was inaugurated in 1731. At the dedication the church was far from finished. It had a vaulted ceiling in 1740. The sacristy was built in 1744, the bench interior was not finished until 1766. Nordmark's church has been restored three times so far, in 1875, 1938 and most recently in 1986.
The church was inaugurated in 1731 and in 1986 it was repaired. It has a bell tower standing by itself.
