In the summer of 2025, you can take Boat 97 (Båtbuss 97) from Vålösundsbryggan to the islands of Vålön and Kalvön. The boat operates daily from June 23th to August 10th, and also on the weekends of August 16th-17th and 23th-24th.
Vålön is often referred to as a paradise for families with children. It features the shallow, sandy beaches of Sandvikarna, complete with a fun playground in the sand. This is also where the Hiking Värmland trail "Tre öars led" begins, taking you on a scenic walk across footbridges connecting Vålön, Kalvön, and Sibberön. Learn more about the islands here.

Vålösundsbryggan is located opposite Café Pärlan (Vålösundsvägen 156).
Boat traffic in Kristinehamn is operated by Värmlandstrafik.
The journey to Vålön takes about 10 minutes, while the trip to Kalvön takes approximately 35 minutes.
The boat has a capacity of 27 passengers per trip.
Dogs are allowed, subject to availability.
In Kristinehamn's archipelago, Boat 96 (Båtbuss 96) also serves the islands of Alvön and Långön.
Traffic disruptions
In the event of high waves, strong winds, thunderstorms, or other severe weather, the boat service may be canceled.

Take the bus to the boat
Several departures of Boat 97 are coordinated with the bus timetable. Bus 3 departs from Kristinehamn city center (including Resecentrum and Tegelslagaregatan) towards Strandudden. Disembark Bus 3 at the Vålösundsbryggan bus stop. If you have pre-booked your boat ticket, it can also be used on the bus.
