In Kristinehamn, you ride at your own pace along beautiful Lake Vänern views, charming wooden houses, village roads or forest trails. Let’s start with cycling along the lake.
Cycle the Vänerleden along Vålösundet.
Vänerleden
Vänerleden, Sweden’s sixth national cycle route, loops around the country’s largest lake and is about 640 km long. The route, inaugurated in 2022, is divided into four stages. For those preferring a slower pace, one stage makes a great 3–4-day ride. In Kristinehamn, you have many opportunities to cycle along the lake. Just follow the red Vänerleden signs on the 86.6 km that run through the area.
Biking Värmland
There are five mountain bike trails in three locations in Kristinehamn: Sättra, Hultet, and three trails at Björkvallen. The terrain varies and includes gravel roads and forest paths. The shortest trail is 3 km, and the longest is 18 km. Each trail is marked with its difficulty level, and information signs are posted. Maps and more information are available on the pages for each trail below, as well as in our cycling brochure.
