The path goes along the river Klarälven. Nature value: Videholmen: the walking trail passes Videholmen south of Munkfors power station. You can only reach Videholmen when there is a low water stand since it is situated in river Klaräven. The area is over all very pleasant with lowland down towards the river Klarälven and up towards the power station there is a windshield. Some procation is needed since big waterfall in Klarälven is released a couple of days a year and the flow of the rivers mainstream can change quickly. Over all the area has a botanic interest with many different kinds of flowers and plants. About 500 meters from the waterfall Munkforsen in Klarälven you can visit Hästskoholmen, Munkfors own nature reserve. It is a pleasant island in Klarälven, where there are swimming opportunities, rest areas, grill and windshields. Cultural value: Pråmdragarstigen commences in the old mill park where there are several museums. Here you will also find Klarälvens highest natural waterfall. Pråmdragarstigen is also a remain from the old mill era when they pulled barges by hand up the river to the old mill. Some hiking tips: - A map is good to have with you. - Good/proper footwear! Depending on weather, season and terrain the ground can be wet. - Covering clothes that can give good protection against ticks. - Light packing that contains for example patches, mobile phone and fruit. And don’t forget the water! - Think about the outdoor access rights. Make sure to know what you can and cannot do.
