The reserve area is located on one of the highest points in Säffle municipality, with slopes in all directions. The area is between 190 and 307 meters above sea level. View from the open area at the top of Ulvfjället. The nature reserve consists of older coniferous forests with a bit of a high element of deciduous trees. The reserve also contains young forests with scattered old asparagus, birches and pines that were left at harvest. The natural values are the forest environment where some parts have been unaffected by man for a long time.
Road boom is open to reserve visitors from May 15 to September 15. Remember not to drive in if the boom is open before or after these dates, it can be forest workers or moose hunting in the forests around the reserve which when they leave the boom closes so you do not get out with the car. Close to Elofsbyn campground and hostel there is an overview map of the hiking trails in the area including nature reserves.
