Granberget is the highest mountain in Värmland, reaching 700.5 metres above sea level. The summit lies above the forest line but below the alpine tree line, creating a landscape of mountain spruce forest. In 1994, a 12-metre-high lookout tower was built here, offering a breathtaking view over forests, lakes, and mountains. To reach the tower, you can either hike a medium-difficulty trail of approximately 2.5 kilometres, or take the full Granberget Trail, which is 8 kilometres long.
Please note: the stunning view is only visible from the top of the tower. To reach it, you must be able to climb steep stairs both up and down. The gravel road leading to Granberget is about 16 kilometres long and can be rough and bumpy – not recommended for low-clearance vehicles.
