You can discover nice hiking trails and exercise tracks for a walk or longer hike. If you want to enjoy wonderful hikes, you don't have to go far from the center of Arvika.
Exercise tracks nearby Arvika center
The exercise tracks not only invite you to run laps but also to go for relaxing walks or hikes or maybe bring a picnic basket and take enjoyable breaks in the scenic areas. In Arvika there are several nice areas for exercise, easy to reach from the center, and offer lovely walks on good substrates and in varied terrain.

Vik, idrottsområde (sports area)
Length: 3,5 km
The tracks start at the sports facility at Vik, with access from road 175. The trails go in hilly terrain, mainly through the forest. There is a barbecue area suitable for a well-deserved break. Lighting is available along part of the track and is on until 9:30 p.m. Vik sports area is not far from the center, and from the train station, it is only 2 km.

Ingestrand
Length: 2.5 km
Ingestrand is a nice and scenic outdoor area with walking paths, MTB trails, and bathing facilities. Nearby are also Arvika Minigolfpark, Ingestrands Camping and Arvika Canoe & Tourist Center. Parking is available next to the bathing facilities, and there is access from route 175, towards the campsite. Fireplaces are available at Ingestrand and along the pathway to the campsite.
The 2.5 km long loop runs on a good substrate in hilly terrain and mostly through forest.
There are more trails in the area and you can, for example, extend the tour by continuing on the other side of road 175 towards the view tower on Storkasberget. Lighting is available along the 2.5 km track and is lit until 9.30 pm.
A nice cycle- and walking path is signposted from the center and goes through the city park, Sågudden Friluftsmuseum, and to Ingestrand (approx. 4.5 km).
By bus: Bus line 51 runs from the station to Symfonivägen/Ingesund, and in the summer, all the way to Ingestrand.

Prästängen
Length: 3 km
The trails are lit until 9.30 pm. There are three loops from 1.1 -3.1 km and the trails go through pine forest, mixed forest, open landscape, and mossy areas. A detour goes to Mosstjärnet where there is a fireplace.
Start opposite the entrance of Agneteberg/Rosendal. It is easy to reach on foot or by bike from the center/station, via the Haga/Agneteberg residential area and the footpath along the Sävsjökanal.

Styckåsskogen
Length: 2,3 km
Styckåsskogen is the area closest to the center. From the railway station to the start at the tennis hall, it is only 1 km, if you choose to go via the city park. There are also parking spaces here. At the beginning of the loop there is an outdoor gym and a fireplace. Partial lighting.

Taserud/Vassvika
Length: 5 km
From Kungsvägen, a 5 km trail runs through the forest to Friluftsfrämjandet's clubhouse in Vassvika. There is a fireplace and large areas for play and fun. From the cabin, you can continue your hike northwardly, along Gravåsleden (17 km). It is also possible to start from Vassvikastuga and go towards the city: road 87 towards Gunnarskog. From Arvika choose the road to the left towards Vassvika.
By bus: Bus line 50 runs from the station to the Rackstad Museum. From here you can walk Kungsvägen, and the starting point is a few hundred meters on the right.

The city walk
A walk of about 2.5 km. It passes interesting buildings and places in the center. Folders can be picked up at the tourist office or downloaded further down this page.
The city park - Sågudden
An easy walk east from the center to the beautiful city park and the playground, then on to Sågudden's Open Air Museum with about 20 museum buildings. At Sågudden there is a playground and a café during the summer. It is an easy walk and it is partly paved. You can also continue the walk to Viksholmen, a peninsula in Kyrkviken, where there are two fireplaces and a tower for birdwatching.

There are also two exercise tracks, one at the city park and one at Prästängen. There is also an outdoor gym in Styckåsskogen. Read more here.
Exercise tracks in winter
In winter, ski tracks are prepared in some areas. At the exercise area at Vik, ski tracks with artificial snow are prepared. Depending on the availability of natural snow on Ingestrand's and Prästängen's exercise tracks, ski tracks are prepared there. There are signs on how to go if you want to walk in the area where the ski tracks are drawn.
