Difficulty: Difficult
A 240 km long hiking trail leading from Morokulien in Eda to Trysil in Norway. The trail is divided in 15 stages and crosses the Norwegian-Swedish border several times.
Trail maintenance is being done this summer (2025) after a few years interruption, so prepare for weak colour marks in some places. The signs will be replaced and duck bords rebuilt, where there is only temporary logs laid out. These are often slippery and using support from a stick or the like can make your crossing safer. This circumstance gives the trail the grading "difficult" until the improvements have been done and then it will be changed back to "average". Updates of maps and information is underways, but we have no final date to present.
If you are an experienced hiker, looking for some challenges, this might be a trigger for you. The nature is truly stunning and there is loads of history around this trail for those who wish to dig deeper, both from times of war and from Finnish culture. Best bring a map and a gps on your adventure! If you are planning to stay overnight, bring a tent as the status of the wind breaks is still not updated. Count on shifting phone coverage.
