In the harbour of Arvika, Hyrtunnan offers kayak rentals via self-service. You can easily book online, pick up the kayak, and go out on a delightful kajak trip whenever you like and for as long as you want. You can rent the kayak for a few hours, a full day, a whole night, or even longer.
The kayaks available for hire are more stable sea kayaks, allowing even new beginners to give it a try.
When you rent a kayak from Hyrtunnan, the following are always included: Paddle, life jacket, and instructions to ensure you feel safe while paddling. (The life jackets have buoyancy for weights between 40-130 kg; renters must provide their own life jackets for other weights.)
If you wish to explore the nearby waterways and the beautiful nature around Arvika, you can rent the kayak for several days. To get a weekly rate, contact Hyrtunnan.
Suggestions for a kayak tour:
*Take a trip around lake Kyrkviken and all its shores. Experience Arvika from the water. It’s a lovely trip, with a nice view on the town and the winds are much calmer in Kyrkviken compared to Glafsfjorden (11 km).
*Paddle out to lake Glafsfjorden through the strait, perhaps for a swimming trip to Ingestrand or Körselviken (8.6 km).
*Visit the Viksholmen birdwatching area by kayak. You might spot a rare bird if you’re lucky (1.4 km).
*Make a stop to visit the café at Sågudden.
*Overnight trip: Paddle out to Bergs klätt Nature Reserve (15.6 km). There are wind shelters and a barbecue area, making it a perfect spot to stay overnight. A toilet is also available along the hiking trail near the wind shelter. In the morning, paddle back along the Älgå side to the island of Skargern. Here, you’ll find both a barbecue area and a toilet. On the other side of the island, there is a somewhat secluded beach. When you’re ready, paddle back home (total 44.6 km)
Self service 24/7 during summer.
