The church was erected 1851, during the time when the iron work in Mitanderfors was still running, after a plan by Johan Fredrik Åbom. The church reflects the simplicity that characterizes the “Finn forests”.
Under the leadership of architect Jerk Alton the church went through an extensive restoration with a colour scheme that gave the church its present look.
With the glass paintings of the sanctuary window and the two icons on each side the sanctuary is probably unique. The icon paintings are made by the clergyman’s wife Kjellaug Nordsjö and were donated by the sewing circle in Bogen 1996.
