There is a lot to see around Älgå Local Heritage Center. Visit the Homestead museum, the Church Village and the Nail forge. Älgå Local Heritage Center is a red wood house with slate roof and was built in the middle of the 19th century. During summertime you can enjoy homemade waffles at the café. On special occasions you can also try the local and traditional dish "Nävgröt & Fläsk". On the second floor is an exhibition with local handicraft that you can buy, and outside is an adventure playground for kids with a fun zip line. Popular events are the Midsummer celebration and different music events.

Älgå Kyrkby (The Church Village) is situated by the bank of the west side of lake Glafsfjorden, this is an area next to the church with a lot of historical and cultural value. The area was an important place for iron- and wood industry because of the river Älgån. There are some buildings left from this era:
Älgå Nail Forge and a magazine by the water. The Nail Forge in Älgå is one of the most well-preserved nail forges in Sweden. Take a look at how nails were made in the old days!
