Glava local heritage centre is situated on a heap with a view over river Glas. The area consists of several buildings such as main building, barn, granary, smithy and workhouse. All buildings have slate, arranged in skilful patterns, that comes from the slate quarry in Glava. The local heritage centres' large collection of objects has been arranged to show how different trades and housework once was performed. There is a shoemakers shop, carpentry, a wash house, mangle shed and a dairy room, as well as a school.
There is also an herbal garden with over 70 herbs. A wooden bridge leads from the garden to Gladisvall, a medieval church place where a church and a pilgrim lodging once lay. Just beside the herbal garden there is an outdoor slate museum.
In summer 2025 the garden is open in June, July, August on Tuesdays 10 am - 1 pm.
2025: June-August, Tuesday 10 am - 1 pm.
The herbal garden and slate museum are accessible all year. The local heritage centre is open by agreement or during events.
