The community house in Mangskog is called Neragata and the name comes from its location by the old road that runs through Takene. The house got its present appearance 1783 according to a date carved on the wall in the attic.
Many of the possessions in Neragata origins from the home of Nils Keyland in Bjurbäcken. Keyland was maybe mostly known for being the superintendent at Nordiska Museet in Stockholm where his most excellent collection of objects from svedjefinnarnas life in Mangskog can be found. He was a man of many talents: languages, poetic and musical, a good mathematician and not the least a great photographer and artist. He also wrote books with recipes of the dishes the Finns brought to our district. In the house, there is also a large number of photos taken by Keyland and mostly they portray people from the home district. They show the everyday life of the finish ancestors in Mangskog consisting of hunting and fishing, agriculture and forestry, disease remedy and sauna bathing.
The community association holds a lot of occasions in Neragata, midsummer celebrations, Fröding-weekend, cultural walks, fika and Christmas bazars.
Café during summer on Sundays.
