Örvattnets Nature Reserve is the latest addition to the nature reserves in Arvika. The object of the reserve is to ensure the important nuclei of old deciduous forest in a larger landscape section in the form of an old burn and swamp forest. The area has a botanical value since it accommodates a large number of threatened cryptogams and fungi, whose habitat requirements are found in natural forests with large number of old deciduous trees and plenty of dead wood. The area also has a zoological value as a habitat for bird and wood-dwelling invertebrates with these habitat requirements.
