Arvika Ljus! is an annual light-art exhibition in the town of Arvika . Since 2012, this event takes contemporary art out of its comfort zone and onto the streets, so that art can be for everyone.
The exhibition introduces the annual Scandinavian darkness as the birthplace of light, by inviting the artists to use this darkness as a material. Every year 6-8 artists, both international as well as local, build their installations with the help of local entrepreneurs and the community.

The 4th edition of Arvika Ljus! will explore the 'in-between' zones, both of the town and inside ourselves, to artistically articulate the transitions between different worlds, while weaving in and out of shadow and light. In an increasingly polarising world, the need for nuances and grey areas becomes more and more important: To not surrender to the black and the white but instead give way to all the shades in between.
Artistic experiment will take the lead this year as we welcome 11 artists from Sweden, Finland, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands.
