Summer cafès in Arvika 2025

In need of a coffee? Take the opportunity to experience a unique environment and have a "Swedish coffee" at one of the summer-open cafes in Arvika.

During the summers a bunch of parishes and community centres open their doors and serve coffee and pastries. The range may vary from sandwiches and waffles to cookies and cakes. And of course, the regional speciality “Klengås”.
There are also other cafées and eateries that are exclusively open during the summers such as Café Carl which is located in Glaskogen and serves tasty food and pastries, Kaffekvarnen in Klässbol that serves well-prepared dishes with mainly ecological ingrediences.

The Local heritage centre in Gunnarskog

Café Carl in Glaskogen

For a historical experience we recommend a visit to a local heritage centre, where you can experience how people lived in the old days combined with a coffee and an exhibition of different handicrafts and arts.
The farm house in Brunskog has an old fashioned shop and at Sölje Gård you can find locally sourced products in the farm shop.
Not far from Älgå Local Heritage Centre lies Älgå nail forge.
Café Carl is located in a newly built cabin from 2015, since the old one was destroyed in a fire. According to the myth, king Karl the XII planned his campaigns to Norway in 1716 and 1718 in this very cabin. The café is located in Glaskogen, which has been a nature reserve since the 1970s.
