Sveafallen is a nature reserve near the popular Kulturcentrum Berget, where you can hike through deep forests, over rocky outcrops, and into Domedagsdalen (Doomsday Valley). The reserve features several remnants from the Ice Age, such as stream channels, dead-ice blocks, and giant's kettles.
Filming Locations from Netflix's Ronja the Robber's Daughter
Parts of the 2024 Netflix series Ronja the Robber's Daughter were filmed in Sveafallen, and you can experience the magical nature seen in the TV series. On certain days, you might encounter Ronja, her band of robbers, and other creatures like wild harpies, grey dwarfs, and rumpnissar.
At Café Berget near the hiking trails, you can enjoy a delicious Robber's pastry or bring a packed lunch for your hike in Ronja's footsteps.
Hiking Trails
The short 1,4 km trail will take you through the fir forest, getting close to giants' kettles and dead-ice blocks and down through Domedagsdalen. The longest trail around Bergtjärn and the watershed point is about 5.3 km and is more rugged and challenging with climbs over rocks and hills.

How to Get to Sveafallen
The reserve is located next to the steelworks in the southeastern part of Degerfors. If you drive from the center towards Svartå on road 205, you will find a sign just before the underpass under the railway. If you take bus 205 from Karlskoga, get off at the Sveafallen bus stop. If you take the train, get off at Degerfors railway station and go through the tunnel.
