The nature reserve Kvickneåsen just south of Häljeboda in Eda, is 89 hectares in size. It consists of old spruce with elements of old aspens and birches. The reserve features grouse and woodpeckers - among others the black woodpecker. Here are nutrient-rich flowers like hepatica, spring pea and the Swedish dvärghäxört (dwarf witch herb?). So far, 17 red listed species has been observed in the reserve, most of them dependent on aspen or dead spruce wood.
