Kalhyttan is a historic area in Filipstad and today it is a sports and leisure arena that offers many opportunities for activity at different levels. There is a 3.5 km long paved track which is used for roller skates and inlines during summertime. Part of the course is adapted for wheelchairs. There are exercise trails in varied terrain to suit all levels of exercise. There are 3, 5 and 10 km of loops. During the winter months when the snow is in place, they are used for cross country skiing. Disc golf is a popular sport and Kalhyttan has a 18-hole course. At Kalhyttan's IP there is an artificial turf and freestyle track that use the clubs in the municipality. Kalhyttan has one of Sweden's most modern artificial snow systems and offers world-class cross country tracks. From the season's first minus degrees, the system starts and after a few days there are first tracks. In the service building there is a changing room with shower and sauna that is open every day at. 07-21 all year round and free to use. There is also a conference room in the building that can be rented. If you feel like some indoor activity, you can rent a ping pong table for 40 kr/h.
