By Car
In Filipstad, national roads 63 and 26 intersect.
Important roads for those traveling by car in Värmland include E18, which connects the eastern, central, and western parts, E45 north along the western shore of Lake Vänern through Fryksdalen and west into Dalarna, as well as national roads 61, 62, and 63 from Karlstad to Arvika and Norway, through Klarälvsdalen and Filipstad. National road 26 runs from Halmstad to Mora and passes through Filipstad.

By Bus
Värmlandstrafik operates regional bus and train services with its yellow buses. Timetables and routes are developed for both daily commuters and visitors.
To get to Värmland, you can travel with Flixbus or Bus4you.

By Plane
There are three airports in Värmland. Karlstad Airport is the largest, and the smaller ones are Hagfors Airport and Torsby Airport.
You can continue your journey to Filipstad municipality with Värmlandstrafik.

By Train
With SJ, you can take trains from major cities Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Oslo to destinations including Karlstad and Kristinehamn for further travel to Filipstad. Then, Värmlandstrafik buses take you further to other locations within the municipality.
The route Gothenburg-Nykroppa is served by Tågab in collaboration with SJ. Tickets are purchased through SJ.
