The church was inaugurated in 1971 by the then Bishop Gert Borgenstierna. Before the church there were only pastor's exp and the urnlunden. These plots and the church site were donated by Baron Gerhard De Geer, who was also responsible for the financial foundation, as well as many gifts to the church.
The church was designed by architect Åke Sjöman, Leksand. The surrounding green spaces were designed by garden architect Samuel Kaldén.
When the church was inaugurated, money was not allocated to a pipe organ. After the establishment of an organ fund, the now existing organ could be inaugurated the 2nd advent in 1987. The organ is in nine parts, divided into two manuals and a pedal. It is built by organ builder Gunnar Carlsson, Borlänge.
The church was inaugurated in 1971 and is build of wood in a modern stile with freestanding bell tower.
