During the 19th century, Motjärnshyttan was one of Värmland's largest blast furnaces. The business was entirely based on the ore from Nordmark and Taberg's mining fields. There is a well-preserved miner's farm from the 19th century and a number of forest worker housing in a uniform design. The cabin also has preserved collections of tools, models and molds.
The Motjärn foundry is perhaps the strangest and most impressive of Värmlands´s foundries because of it´s architectonic form. the foundry closed for good in 1916.
