The area is part of Brattforsheden nature conservation area formed at the inland ice meltdown. The whole moss rests on sand and the dunes were formed when the flat partition surface rose above the surface of the sea. The wind then came to affect the surface and high dunes were formed.
Geijersdalsmossen is a so-called peat moss, which means that the area has a lot of small "ponds" with open water. Together with the marshmallows, this makes birds like lambs, songworms, lionpipers, bigpox, tasselbones, greenbones, orra and trana enjoying the moss. Among the seals you will find mostly carrot, meadow stamp and bushwash.
The Geijersdalsmossen also has some hiking trails and the Brattforsleden also goes through the reserve.
