The Borgvik Skans 113 was part of the southern side of the inner defensive line. If the German troops would have made it this far through Sweden, this defence facility with its anti-tank obstacles would further impede their journey. This defence facility was constructed according to a so called "1000-standard" with simpler constructions as most battles were expected to occur at the defensive line along the Sweden/Norway border. The defence facilities closer to the border were more advanced and extensive. Skans 113 didn't provide bomb shelters for the locals. The anti-tank obstacles where made of concrete but the defences lacked heavier emplacements making it clear that this was only part of the secondary defence line.
Two interesting and unusual details at this facility are that the mill building is covered in concrete and the roof of the gun emplacement is of a type that hasn't been found anywhere else in Sweden. The local folk association has restored some parts of the defence facility and it is now in good condition.
