There is no bad weather just bad clothes!

In Sweden there is a saying that there is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothes. This meaning that there are no excuses to not go outside even if they rain is pouring or snow is falling. Here are some tips on how to dress properly so you can hike in the rain!

  • Close to the skin: Avoid cotton close to the skin as it becomes heavy and cold when wet; opt for merino wool or synthetic materials for better comfort and performance.
  • Warm layer: The second layer, often made of fleece or thicker merino wool, provides warmth and can also be substituted with lightweight, synthetic jackets that mimic down.
  • Protection from wind and water: Some prefer an outer layer that is both wind and waterproof, while others choose a wind jacket paired with a rain jacket, with many children using Galon fabric clothing.
  • On your feet: Ensure children have proper footwear like rubber boots for younger kids and comfortable boots for older kids to enjoy playing in puddles and mud.

Let the hike through Grums municipality be a memorable experience – here, nature’s beauty and the peace you’re seeking await.
