Music in Grums

From Sven-Ingvars’ beloved melodies to Rigmor Gustafsson’s beautiful jazz tones, the music from Grums has enriched the Swedish music scene and continues to inspire.

Sven-Ingvars

Swedish folk music / Rock / Pop

From the small village of Slottsbron in Grums, Sven-Ingvars has become one of Sweden’s most prominent and beloved dance bands. Known for their timeless hits like “Två mörka ögon,” the band has not only left a musical mark but also enjoyed a long career on the Swedish charts, with a total of 55 songs on the Swedish music charts! Founded and fronted by Sven-Erik Magnusson, he was the heart of the band until his passing in 2017. His son, Oscar Magnusson, took over the lead vocals and continues the band’s tradition of creating music that people love to sing along to.

Rigmor Gustafsson

Jazz

Rigmor Gustafsson, the acclaimed jazz singer, made the journey from the quiet forests of Värmland to the bustling streets of New York, and has since established herself as one of Europe’s most prominent and beloved jazz artists. Her impressive career, with ten solo albums and numerous international awards such as The Royal Musical Academy’s Jazz Award and Sveriges Radio’s Guldkatten, speaks to her continuous drive to evolve and explore new musical paths.

Despite all her success, Rigmor Gustafsson carries with her the roots of her upbringing on a small farm in Värmskog, Grums, a place where she grew up in close connection with nature and animals. In this remote corner of Värmland, where life was shaped by self-sufficiency and hard work, there was a timeless harmony between humans and nature. It was here, among the forests, cows, and clucking chickens, that Rigmor learned the value of simple living—something that still resonates in her down-to-earth and sincere music.
