Uddeholmsladan – The coolest barn in Sweden Just outside Hagfors in the northern part of Värmland lies the village Uddeholm. Here you’ll find Uddeholmsladan (built in 1940), a large event arena for concerts, theatres, exhibitions and also barn dancing.
Everything started in 1994 when Stig Sonebrink bought Uddeholm’s Gård (farm). The farm had been mostly working with milk production and was operated by a company a couple of years after it had belonged to Uddeholmsbolaget up to the beginning of 1980’s. The farm had at the most 580 hectare of agriculture. They say that the fantastic glulam beams in the barn was imported from Denmark and was their first shipping to Sweden.
Stig started to fix the barn, which was a hard work, to be able to arrange events and after 10 years, 2006, Packmopedsturnén (a music event) was the first event in the barn and they came back every year until 2015. Packmopedsturnén was the only event being arranged in the barn during the first years but eventually Stig booked other famous artists as Jill Johnson, Kalle Moréus, Bröderna Rongedahl and Doug Seegers and many more.
From 2016 the barn is also a fantastic dance place with its 400 square meters of dance floor. Almost all the famous dance bands in Sweden, as Lasse Stefanz, Streaplers and Fernandoz, have been visiting the barn and they are all impressed by this fantastic building. Today it is both Stig and his son Henrik who are arranging events in the barn and they are all the time building and renovating to make the barn one of Sweden’s coolest event arenas.
Ligger strax utanför Uddeholm i riktning mot Hagfors och här finns rum för upp till 800 personer under konsert.
