The city's picturesque plaza reopened after a major renovation in summer 1996 and was given its current name. At one corner of the square stands the water sculpture "Morning" from 1940 by Oscar Antonsson (1898-1960). The sculpture was formerly in the courtyard at the hotel & restaurant Alfred Nobel.
