Lake Alkvettern northeast of Kristinehamn offers great chances to catch pike, zander and perch – in scenic waters that are part of the historic Bergslagskanalen canal system.
The fishing area includes Lake Alkvettern, from Kyrksten in the north to Mörkviken in the south. Exceptions apply for Åsbergsviken, the inner part of Ladufallsviken, a small area in Mörkviken and the entrance to Käxsundet and Knappforsen. See map on iFiske.

🎫 Fishing permits are available as day, week and year permits. A family permit is valid for two people living at the same address. Children under 16 fish for free with hand gear.
Fishing from the shore at the Lunedet recreation area (facing Alkvettern) is free for everyone. Please note: fishing is not allowed at swimming areas.
You can fish for zander, pike and perch. Ice fishing is popular when the ice is thick enough.
Zander fishing is prohibited from 1 May to 20 June. Any caught zander must be released immediately, even if injured. Motor fishing is not allowed during this period.
Minimum size for zander: 45 cm
Max 5 zander per permit and day, for personal use only
Only hand gear is allowed: rod, spinning rod, fly rod, ice fishing rod, deep fishing rod
6 tip-ups per permit are included
Trolling with a hand-held rod is allowed (1 rod per person, max 2 rods per boat – including with family permit)
Trolling rigs, planer boards or similar equipment are not allowed
Fishing is not allowed closer than 50 metres from private properties or piers – unless you own the property and have a valid permit
All equipment must be attended at all times
Alkvettern is a diverse lake with depth, coves and islets. Show respect for nature, animals and other visitors. Keep it clean and fish responsibly.
