The church has a wide nave and the frame is made of natural stone with smooth-plastered, pink-colored exterior walls that are broken off by round-arched church windows.
Before the current church, there was a medieval wooden church from the 14th century or the beginning of the 15th century. In the 18th century, the wooden church was considered old and was demolished. The new stone church was built under the direction of Johan Georg Reincke and was inaugurated on September 21, 1777.
The church's exterior is largely unchanged from the time of construction and is a well-preserved example of how a church was built in the Gustavian period.
