Marieberg is a parkland area that was established 1883. It is built by the former mental patients, nurses and gardeners. It is the home of many beautiful and unusual trees, particularly for these climates. The park is well worth a visit: enjoy the pond at the Kristina Palace, the inspirational garden with its pergola, the herbal garden and the buildings. Kristinehamn’s Art Museum is located on the grounds.
Marieberg was formerly a separate city where the insane lived. Today there is also full activity in the area including: Kristinehamns konstmuseum, Pingstkyrkans loppmarknad, Mariebergs trädgård, Idé trädgården.
