About the trail:
The trail starts from the resting area next to Ransäter Hembygdsgård and passes through a tunnel under road 62, follows a gravel road and turns into the forest on the right side of the road. The trail steadily rises up in varied forest environment with elements of well-kept meadows and over a small bridge in old forest at the beautiful Hoppbäcken.

Directions:
From the tourist office, drive south on road 62. After about 9 kilometers turn left towards Ransäter, directly to the left lies Ransäter rest stop next to Ransäter Hembygdsgård. Here is a message board about Geijerleden.

Cultural:
At the beginning there is Ransäter Hembygdsgård with events and museums. Along the trail there are smaller remains of torpes, farmhouses and mills marked with signs. After the trail there are many old villages to look out for. In the northern part of the trail there is an old school house ruin, Ransäter municipality's first school in 1895 moved to Stenbäcken in Ransäter.
Some hiking tips:
- Bring a good map!
- Good/proper footwear! Depending on weather, season and terrain the ground can be wet.
- Covering clothes that can give good protection against ticks.
- Light packing that contains for example patches, mobile phone and fruit. And don’t forget the water!
- Think about the outdoor access rights. Make sure to know what you can and cannot do.
