In the Lönnskog countryside there have been populations since the Middle Ages. Over the years there have been some other interesting activities here such as gold mining in Kniphöjden. The trails provide nature experiences in both large and small, vantage points with views of mountains as diverse in shades of blue and magical old forest. You can choose from lightweight joints to more demanding joints, all of which are equally well maintained.
Lönnskog is located near the Glaskogen Nature Reserve. The hiking trail goes across Kniphöjden with a rest area with fantastic views of the landscape. The Stone gold mine is a unique excursion destination in Kniphöjden. It was built in 1910 with the help of dynamite and it became about 21 meters deep. Close to Elofsbyn camp and hostels there is an overview map of the hiking trails in the area including the nature reserves.
