On Villkorsberget there has been an ancient castle, it is the only ancient castle that has been investigated archaeologically. It is located on a cliff next to the shores of Lake Vänern and is believed to have been a kind of fortified farm. It was about 170 meters long, consisting of ramparts and walls of earth and stone. The ramparts have been provided with a wooden palisade, inside the ramparts there were built terraces of stone and earth. The terraces have probably been built to accommodate houses. Sometime between the years 400-600, the castle burned down to never be rebuilt. Today you see tracks in the form of elevations in the area.
