Visit the unique station, nothing has changed here since the last train ran in 1966. The station is really worth seeing. The waiting room, the ticket window, the office are all in original condition. You get an insight into how the stations used to work. Several scenes for Swedish film and TV have been recorded on site as the station is so well preserved.
During the summer, you can both have coffee and spend the night here as the old sleeping carriages and the café carriage are on site at the station. In the station building there are exhibitions about JÅÅJ - the railway company, Svaneholm's mill history and Gunnel Eklund - famous operetta singer in Sweden and out in Europe.
Järnvägssällskapet also has locomotives and unique carriages that are fully drivable, they are located in the locomotive shed in Åmål.
