This is true whether you are a hiker, an avid fisherman, a canoeist or kayaker, or if you just like animals and nature.
Not only is the area one of the most beautiful in Värmland with rich and varied animal and plant life - there are miles of hiking paths and canoeing routes for both long and short trips.
Find your own peaceful lake for fishing or swimming.
When it is time to set up camp after an eventful day, overnight cabins or shelters with grill sites await you.
And there is no risk of overcrowding in the woods: the forest is 28,000 hectares large, with about 300 kilometres of hiking trails.
If you want to experience the outdoor life, Glaskogen is the place for you!
One recommendation before you set out: buy the Glaskogen Map!
It will guide you to all the shelters, cabins, swimming areas and sights.
The map can be bought directly from the Glaskogen Foundation office or from various local retailers. (You will find the complete list on Glaskogen's website).
Whether you want to hike, fish or canoe, the Glaskogen Card is a must.
The Card doesn't cost much and is available in two versions: one for fishing, and the other for using the Glaskogen's other facilities, such as cabins and shelters, rest areas and trails.
If you buy both cards, you can stay at the overnight cabins and shelters and fish in most of the waters in the national forest by flyfishing, spinning, jigging, bait fishing or using a dipnet.
The ways are many! Just remember that it is forbidden to fish in streams between lakes. The lakes are shown on the Glaskogen Map.
