In the area around the border between Sweden and Norway there are many exiting hiking trails. Some of them used as fugitive trails under World War 2.
At the gas station Gulf in Töcksfors you can buy the map "Friluftskart i Grenseland".
KarlXII road
It is probably the most historically interesting trail of them all. It is also described by the famous Stricker in 1775. It is build on a command from King Karl XII himself. Probably the trail is a much older border passing than that but was now improved so it coul transport canons and so on.
Karl den XII väg

In Lekehalla a road takes to the west. From here the road is marked westwards to Fjölatjern and further on crossing the border and into Norway north of Grenseröys nr 33. Here there are three tarns. You follow the path and finally you reach Nordre Askerud were tha trail ends.
