Årjängstravet runs competitions on 16 occasions, of which two are pony races. Stortravet with double races the second weekend in July is the highlight of the year, with racing competitions on Friday night and guests from the harness racing elite series, STL, on Saturday night.The main races Årjäng's great Sprint and Erik Perssons Memorial run traditionally and V75 games organized. A true party with about 10,000 visitors!
Restaurants
At Årjängstravet there are several restaurants when the racing days are up and running. Årjängs Hotell runs the Travrestaurant, the ladies club opens their café, the gaming hall has a kiosk / café and Restaurant Travmuseet is also open. Årjängs Hotell also runs Stallfiket, a café for those active in and around the stables.
Nordiska Travmuseet
In the same building as the Trotting Office are the Nordic Trotting Museum and the Restaurant Travmuseet which serves lunch every weekday. There are also good conference possibilities.
The trotting track is beautifully situated in Årjäng and other trotting tracks, such as Åmål, Arvika and Färjestad, are nearby. Across the border, in Mysen, you find the Momarken trotting track.
There are six professional trainers and the racing track is also enriched with many amateur trainers who work with trotting as a hobby.
Travskolan
The education department at Årjängstravet is called Travskolan and there you can educate yourself in horses and harness racing and take part of their range of horse experiences such as double sulky, pony racing and team building in the form of pentathlon.
The trotting track is an outing for the whole family. Trotting and horses is not just a sport but a way of living which has characterized the district for many years. Visit the trotting race, have a nice lunch at the restaurant or bring your own picnic. Anyhow we promise you an exciting and maybe different day.
