The rural district of Årjäng is situated along the road E18 in-between Karlstad and Oslo. Our 1000 lakes and amazing natural areas invite you to delightful relaxation at the beach and more active days when you go fishing, canoeing or hiking.
You will always sleep well in any of our accomodations ranging from 5-star camp sites, hotels and hostels to sleeping in the wilderness.
If you would like to experience nature in a different way you can go for a ride on an inspection trolley, bike, hike, play some golf or why not go ride on horse-back? During summer there are a lot of events going on - A weekend of horse power in July with a hill climb in central Årjäng and a 2-day harness racing competition with V75 and the great Sprint of Årjäng. Allsköns Musik in August and Packmopedsturnén might be a good alternative for those who enjoy music. The Årjäng market in September is one of the highlights of the year with 800 licensed pedlars, approx 50000 visitors and a tivoli that amuse both young and grown-up children.
Shopping is usually one of the activities during a vacation and since we border on Norway we have a great selection of shops. Flea markets, antique shops and second-hand shops are found all over the district.
