Silleruds Old Homestead Museum

It was built in Snarkil in 1812. In 1947 it was moved to Svensbyn in the same parish. The second floor was built in 1858.
Besides the main building there are barns from Egenäs and a store house from Häljebyn as well as a cottage from the vicarage of Sillerud.
The homestead museum of Sillerud has got several objects, which have belonged to the famous preacher and missionary Peter Fjällstedt ( 1802 - 1881 ). At his birth - place, a cottage in Fjällane a monument has been built.

Drive E18 towards Karlstad about 15 km. Turn left at sign " Sillerud ". Continue about 500 m, turn left. The old homestead museum is situated on the ridge.
