HR Konsult i Värmland, Kerstin Alvarsson, arranges an experience in a forest near you, where you can feel the calming powers of nature, focus on your movements, and be present in the moment.
It is a calm and playful form of exercise that focuses on exploring nature through movement, balance, and presence. You will move across logs and stones – at a pace that suits everyone. The movements are designed to strengthen the body, improve balance, and increase mobility.
Why movement in the forest?
Research shows that the sounds and scents of nature reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol. This induces a sense of calm and reduces anxiety and depression. The forest helps you regain focus and creativity by allowing your mind to rest.
The uneven ground of the forest activates small muscles and joints that are rarely used in everyday life. Just walking in the forest strengthens balance and coordination. Many of the movements can be taken home and used in your everyday life or at work.
What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is about being fully present in the moment – experiencing what we are doing right here and now, without stress or judgment. During the session, you will practice breathing, feeling, listening, and seeing. All of this is designed to help you carry home a sense of focus, calm, and well-being.
Kerstin Alvarsson runs the company HR Consultant in Värmland and organises Mindful Granny Parkour in a forest near you. Together with her, you will find a suitable spot for you and your group.
