Jan Wikner (1924-1990) had a wide-ranging cultural impact, spanning art, theater, revue, singing, and composition. This summer's exhibition at the Kvarnen Museum showcases this breadth, and the two performance programs present Jan Wikner as a composer of Ferlin's poems. His Ferlin songs were featured in the Ferlin Group's programs from 1983-1989, during which Jan Wikner was actively involved. The piece *Gick jag allena* was dedicated by Jan Wikner to his wife Carin. The poem *Marknad* was set to music by Wikner for the musical play *På Fabians tid*. *En underbar fjälla* is one of Nils Ferlin's revue couplets. When it was published in a couplet booklet in 1923, there was no information about the melody, unlike many of Ferlin's other couplets. So, for the Ferlin Group's program *Fabians Revyvisor* in 1986, Jan Wikner wrote a melody. An old top hat became Jan Wikner's signature. It was featured in the musical play *På Fabians tid* and in several other Ferlin Group programs. *I en cylinderhatt* was a program in which Jan Wikner performed alongside Rolf Mårth and accordionist and pianist Bror Frisk. Among the participating singers and musicians, Gunilla Jansson, Rolf Mårth, and Stenåke Kristiansson have collaborated with Jan Wikner in several programs.
The event is organized by Filipstads Bergslags Riksteaterförening in collaboration with Kulturföreningen Kulörta lyktor.
