Activities in the Mineral Kingdom

In the Mineral Kingdom, the world’s most mineral-rich area, there are activities for all interests and ages.

Visit Hornkullen Silver Mine and take a guided tour inside the mine! During the summer, guided tours will take place. When the dates are set, this page will be updated immediately. The café is also open with pleasant refreshments. If you visit the area outside opening hours, there is digital guidance available on site. Just scan the QR codes to see the different locations and start listening. Tips! Bring headphones for the best experience!

Also, in Långban Mining Village, you can take a guided tour of the area. There are also several exhibitions and exciting activities for the younger ones. They are open for the summer from June 8th to August 18th. They are open during the summer from June 11th to August 21st.

Cycle around the mines in Persberg! There are three lovely Biking Värmland trails in Persberg where you pass by former mine areas and areas that are still active today. There are also cycling trails starting from Hennickehammar Manor and at Kalhyttan Sports and Leisure Arena.

Visit the mine tunnel that Alice Cooper dreams of visiting… Namely, Tilas Stoll at Högbergsfältet in Persberg!

Count minerals at Nordmarks Mineral Museum. There are also several hiking trails around the area, a fairy tale path, and a nice café.

At Lesjöfors Museum, you can learn about the history of the community, including mining history, from the 1940s onwards. While in Lesjöfors, you can also visit Sjösta Memorial Hill and Suder-Matte Statue. The founder of Dalkarlsjöhyttan, the Finnish settler Suder-Matte, was honored with this beautiful monument. The memorial hill also houses an impressive collection of ores from various Swedish mines, including the mine fields in Persberg, Långban, and Nordmark.
