Tips on beaches in Kristinehamn

Skymningen

Enjoy the sandy beach and pier at Lake Vänern for a refreshing swim. There are changing rooms, a playground, and a summer café near Kristinehamn Herrgårdscamping. Dogs are welcome but not allowed to swim. Bus line 3 takes you to the city center and the Picasso sculpture.

Jutviken

Enjoy the shallow sandy beach at Lake Vänern, just 5 km from the city center. With views of Lake Vänern’s horizon, Europe’s third-largest lake, you can relax in a beautiful setting. Outhouses are available. Dogs are welcome on the premises but are not allowed to swim.

Gräsviksbadet – Vismen

Experience the sandy beach at Lake Vismen in Björneborg, just 10 kilometers south of Kristinehamn’s center. At Gräsviksbadet, you can enjoy the sandy beach, jump into the water from the bathing pier, or use the barbecue area for a cozy picnic. For your convenience, both dry toilets and seasonal toilets are available.

Gottbolsbadet – Skagern

The travel magazine Allt om resor has named Lake Skagern as one of Sweden’s fifteen best bathing lakes. At Gottbolsbadet in Rudskoga, forty kilometers south of Kristinehamn’s center, you’ll find a shallow and popular beach. Here, you can enjoy a 400-meter-wide sandy beach, jump into the water from the bathing pier, and let children play on the playground. For your convenience, there are barbecue areas, outdoor toilets, and seasonal toilets available. Dogs are welcome on the premises but are not allowed to swim.

Sandvikarnas badplats – Vålön

One of the Lake Vänern archipelago’s finest shallow sandy beaches, perfect for families with children. Here you’ll find a playground, outdoor toilets, changing rooms, a freshwater well, and barbecue areas. Vålön is connected to Kalvön and Sibberön via bridges and a 4 km hiking trail. Dogs are welcome on the premises but are not allowed to swim here; they can swim in other parts of the island. During summer, you can reach Vålön by the boat Stöten from Vålösundsbryggan.

Bengtsgårdsbadet

Experience a small yet charming Lake Vänern beach with a large grassy area at Bengtsgård, 30 kilometers south of Kristinehamn’s center. Here, you’ll find a sandy beach, bathing pier, and playground, perfect for a relaxing day by the water. Please note that the bottom is rocky for the first ten meters (water shoes recommended), but then transitions to sandy bottom. Outdoor toilets are also available.

Revsandsbadet

Experience a shallow sandy beach at Lake Vänern, near Revsands family campsite, 12 km south of Kristinehamn. Here, you can enjoy the evening sun and a relaxed atmosphere. The sandy beach provides a perfect spot for relaxation and play, with a playground featuring a jumping pillow and toilet facilities.

Hults badplats

Experience a shallow sandy beach at Lake Vänern, near Revsands Camping approximately 14 km south of Kristinehamn. Enjoy the evening sun and a variety of activities including playgrounds, bathing piers, beach volleyball, barbecue areas, and the charming SMU summer home café. Dogs are welcome on the premises but are not allowed to swim.
