The largest part of the church was built in the years 1831-35, but the construction works continued during the rest of the century. The wooden church was designed in the shape of a cross and with a tower on the westside. It is a good example of 19th-century Swedish church design, with an interior reflecting the preference of the time for brightness and austerity.
Near the church, you will find a memorial for the Apostle of the Finn Forest, Carl Axel Gottlund.
