By Car

The most traveled route is the E45, which runs through Torsby and Värmland, stretching from Italy to Karesuando. Running east-west, the E16 joins the E45 for part of its journey between Londonderry in Northern Ireland and Gävle in the east. Another major route is National Road 62, which passes through the Klarälven Valley, connecting Karlstad in the south to Långflon and the Norwegian border in the north.

By Plane

Fly to Torsby! It takes just one hour and fifteen minutes from Arlanda to Torsby Airport. The airport offers daily scheduled flights, as well as business and taxi flights.

By Boat

If you’re arriving in Torsby by boat, it will likely be via the lake Fryken – in your own boat, of course. Start in Nedre Fryken, which flows into Mellan Fryken, and finish in Övre Fryken, where Torsby lies along its northern shore.

By Bus

To reach Värmland, you can travel with FlixBus. From Karlstad, continue to Torsby with Värmlandstrafik, which serves all of Värmland. If you’re coming from Dalarna, Dalatrafik stops at Värnäs in Torsby Municipality, where buses from Värmlandstrafik connect.

By Train

Travel along the Fryksdalsbanan, Sweden’s most beautiful railway. The Fryksdalsbanan stretches between Karlstad and Torsby and is part of Värmlandstrafik. To reach Karlstad, you can travel with SJ.

By Bike

Ride your bike to Torsby! The Klarälvsleden cycle route runs from Sysslebäck to Uddeholm, covering 120 km of country roads and gravel paths. From there, it continues as the Klarälvsbanan along an old railway embankment, offering 90 km of paved cycling trail all the way to Karlstad.
