Lelångenleden is an 180 km long regional cycle route divided into 4 stages. The trail takes you from Uddevalla via Dalsland to Årjäng in Värmland.
The scenic Lelången Trail gets its name from the old Uddevalla-Lelången railway and a large part of the trail follows the disused embankment. What distinguishes Lelångenleden from many other cycle paths is that almost half of the surface consists of gravel roads with a hard-packed surface and sparse car traffic.
The trail winds along the Dalsland Canal, through wild forests and past charming rural towns with several nice coffee places. It is a fun cycling trail for the whole family with many stops along the way, including several museums, swimming spots, places to canoe and cozy hotels and campsites to stay at.
Årjäng
The stretch in Årjäng municipality leads you from the mill town of Gustavsfors along the eastern shore of Lelången - a nice and scenic stretch. After about 13 km you can take a dip at Blomma's bathing area - perhaps one of our most idyllic bathing spots. At the junction in Torkelsbyn, you can choose to make a detour of about 4 km to Blomskog church, or a slightly longer detour of 6.5 km to Borgåsgubben before continuing to Årjäng.
