In the beginning of the 19th century the old wooden church of Töcksmark was in such a bad condition, that it was decided to build a new one.
This was built on the site of the old church in 1819 and was of the same style as before, a cross church of a construction very common in Värmland during the 18th century. The church is decorated with roofpaintings, and there is a beautyful carved altarpiece, of which the upper part dates from 1730 and the lower part from 1822.
The baptismal font which is made of soapstone dates back to the 12th century. It is one of the oldest in Värmland and of an unusual model. To be mentioned are also, among other effects a sacramental chalice from the 14th century and an invenory made of ore from the 13th century. Very interesting is also the old churchstables.
