Busten is a big rock with a peculiar shape, you can see it between S. Ström and Kalleboda. There are always fresh flowers or branges by the rock.
The legend tells that this place holds a deeply tragic occurrence.
A cold and snowy Christmas Eve, sometime during the 18th century, a woman carrying her illegitimate child came to seek shelter for the night. The master denied her by saying “that there was no room for women like her”.
In the morning of Christmas Day, the master and his family went to the matins at church. Not far from their home, beneath a big rock, sat a woman with a child in her arms, both frozen to death and covered with snow.
This legend has been told from generation to generation and is most probably true. It occurred here at Kallbufjället and that is why this rock is named Bu'sten.
